Gulf of Mexico Databases
This page provides links to certain other on-line, Gulf of Mexico databases.
Gulf of Mexico Databases from the Minerals Management Service
This link leads to several Gulf of Mexico MMS databases. One contains nearly 170,000 Gulf of Mexico well logs from 1995 and before. Users can sort wells by lease, well name, or API number. Users then can add well logs to a shopping cart and order them. The MMS charges $15 to create and ship a CD-ROM of data.
United States Geological Survey (USGS) Oil and Gas Databases
This link leads to information on six USGS databases including (1) a database of USGS publications on coal, oil, and natural gas, (2) A comprehensive database of the 1995 assessment of national oil and gas resources, (3) the National Energy Research Seismic Library, (4) a database concerning the National Petroleum Reserve In Alaska (NPRA), and (5) the Gas Geochemistry Database of the former U.S. Bureau of Mines (USBM).
Deep South Louisiana wells (>12000 ft)
Database showing mud weights and bottom hole temperatures from each log run. Data can be mapped to look for hot and cold spots associated with production. Database also contains mud weight data for ~ 34,000 offshore wells, and a subset of those data (12.5# mud or greater) has been mapped as top of "pressure". About 4,500 onshore velocity surveys, mostly on the Gulf Coast areas are also available. For more information contact Byron McNeil (mcneil9@swbell.net, Gulf Coast Veocity Data, Houston, TX).
